Hey, how are things? I've been off radar for a few weeks (holiday and work).

Finally got commitment from local managers in 10 countries to start using competency framework. Now working on developing some foundation courses for new people, and launching our first wiki. Busily learning CSS, and getting some content on there to get people started....Man, I don't know how much more I can do...

I'd love to include activity instructions to get people's blood flowing...things like 'Gimme 30 seconds of Bruce Lee' or 'I wanna see some Riverdance' or 'Become a bear emerging from months of hibernation'. Video footage of each student's exercises would be useful for verification and comedic value :)

Well, not far from the truth about what I'm revising. It's very interesting what information is made available to those who want to learn about learning, versus the stuff that is just out there. Thank goodness for the internet!

Inspiring way to present data

I saw this and am entranced by it. I love the way it presents the data in a really clever way...

Then - as usual, I wonder, how can this kind of thing be used to help people learn. Maybe a great way to present knowledge base articles?

What are your thoughts?

Becoming a Dad

Well, he finally arrived! I'm a new Dad! :)


Cameron Henry Jones arrived on the 27th August at 11:22. Healthy, happy and bouncy! If you're interested, check out www.thejonesadventure.co.uk for pictures.


Once paternity leave is over and things have settled down, I'll be back to annoying you all with banal and ill thought out comments but I did think it would be nice to share the news :)

Captivate 3 - first look

For those of you interested in this stuff...


I downloaded the trial in the hope that Cap 3 finally delivers what Cap 2 promised. As you'll know, Cap 2 was buggy and very, very able to corrupt it's own files without trying (especially on Vista).


So Cap 3. Well, so far so good with a couple of minor niggles. I've used it extensively for 2 days so this isn't a complete review but hopefully I'll cover the main points.
