Buthaina Al-Othman

Hello from Bibliotheca Alexandria (BA), Alexandria, Egypt!

I'm so excited about the great new ideas on learning being shared right now through keynote addresses on the first day of a Meeting (conference), titled "New Learning for Sustainability in the Arab Region", Aug 30-Sept 1, here in the library of Alexandria, Alexandria, Egypt. This event is sponsored by IUCN, CEC, and BA. Thanks to Gillian Martin Meher

Notice, Gilian is sitting few rows in front of me :)
More on this, later!

Jay, unfortunately I couldn't use my laptop while presenting; so, no recording :(

But you are welcome to check out the Slideshow

The library certainly speeks to the imagination.

What a wonderful place for a conference! A great reminder that not all wisdom hails from Rome, Paris, London, or New York.

Buthaina, was your presentation recorded?

Buthaina gave a great presentation on blending formal and informal learning using a case study from Kuwait where a group of bank managers wanted to set up an collaborative learning community. She made a very clear distinction between formal learning, non-formal learning and informal learning, which for some people was a very new, and thought provoking distinction. It has been wonderful to have her here!!
